Become a community buddy


Active for health - be active to stay healthy

Your support can help people to be more active

Can you;

  • Provide 1 to 1 support to patients in group settings
  • Help to motivate patients
  • Offer practical help and additional support in sessions to individuals
  • Encourage independence and self-empowerment
  • Be an advocate for the Active for Health and other physical activity programmes
  • Talk to patients and make them feel at ease

We are recruiting community buddies to support each of the long term condition pathways to provide one to one support to patients within our group exercise sessions across the borough.

Active for Health - Community Buddies

What we are looking for

We are looking for people who have some spare time to volunteer alongside our Active for Health team, who deliver exercise sessions to patients who have a long term health condition and need further support to keep active after a period of health care intervention.

Your role would be to help and support patients joining the programme, helping to keep them motivated and providing practical support during sessions.

  • A free T shirt
  • Free access to Active for Health sessions (subject to suitability)
  • A training package
  • Opportunity to join our incentive scheme
  • Ongoing support from the Active for Health team
