Interactive Physical Activity Workshop (3 hours)

This half day interactive workshop gives delegates the opportunity to increase their knowledge and enhance their practical skills including suitable patient advice on appropriate physical activity options.

Case studies will be embedded in the training, these include the following conditions; Cardiovascular Disease; Cancer; COPD; Stroke; MSK and Falls prevention for older adults. In addition, delegates will learn about signposting to local physical activity opportunities and how to refer to Rotherham’s Active for Health Research project.

This half day training course is for all health and social care professionals who would like to learn how to promote physical activity to patients with long-term health conditions.

What is included?

The training will include expert guidance on the current physical activity recommendations, benefits of physical activity, and how to adopt a person centred approach when providing advice to encourage patients to move more each day.

Active for Health Workshop for GP Practices and healthcare teams (1 hour)

There is a free workshop is available for all GP Practice and healthcare staff, which will reinforce the benefits of physical activity on condition management and recovery, outline all the Physical activity referral services available in Rotherham, and provide details on how to make referrals to the Active for health programme.

The workshop can be delivered within your practice/organisation.
